Bellamar Caves
The Bellamar Caves stretch for about 2 miles, and they are known for their beautiful crystal insides. Accessible from the beach city of Varadero, these caves have been a popular tourist attraction for a long time, and will be a wonderful addition to your trip. Legend has it that in 1861, a slave dropped a tool down into a hole, thus leading to the discovery of the caves. The caves formed about 300,000 years ago and are located underground, filled with passages and tunnels. They are decorated will stalagmites and stalactites, but include streams and rivers throughout.
